Melissa is also passionate about supporting adults & adolescents experiencing anxiety, OCD, panic disorder, phobias, depression, anger, life stress, work difficulties and adjustment disorders.
As a registered psychologist, Melissa is trained in a range of evidence-based therapies, with her primary modalities being Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Ego State therapy (EST). She ensures that her approach is individually tailored for each client, ensuring they receive personalised, high-quality care that meets their unique needs in working through the difficulties they are facing.
Having a significant background in dance, Melissa is also able to offer adjunct somatic-based therapies (including dance, movement and yoga) to support nervous system regulation for individuals who have experienced trauma. She also has diverse cross-cultural experience, having lived in Australia, Asia, Europe, and more recently Bermuda.
Melissa has extensive experience in working with adolescents and young adults in educational settings, first as a classroom teacher in both public and private settings, and more recently as a school psychologist supporting students with mental health challenges and developmental and learning needs. She continues to have a passion for working with young people who have experienced trauma and life challenges.
