ABOUT

JOSH SHALEVSKI

REGISTERED PSYCHOLOGIST | NOOSA, SUNSHINE COAST

BA (Psychology & Anthropology) | Graduate Diploma of Psychology (Advanced)

Josh is a warm and compassionate male psychologist who provides an affirming therapeutic space to all people he works with. He has a keen interest in a wide range of psychological problems, with a passion for working with PTSD and trauma-related conditions. Josh strives to empower individuals to access their innate inner resources, and to walk alongside them on a path of healing, resilience and growth.

Josh primarily works with individuals (age 14+) experiencing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, complex trauma, anger, stress, and emotion dysregulation difficulties, along with those seeking personal growth and greater reflective insight. Stemming from his work with families and young people experiencing complex mental health issues, he is passionate about continuing to provide high quality psychological care to individuals living with trauma. He also has a keen interest in men’s mental health and for providing neurodiversity-affirming therapy to individuals with autism and ADHD, having previously spent several years working in this space.

As an integrative therapist, Josh’ therapeutic approach is heavily informed by experiential modalities including Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a particular passion for Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS) and trauma-informed care. He is also undergoing EMDR training in June 2024 to compliment his work in the trauma field.

To maintain a high standard of evidence-based and trauma-informed care, Josh remains committed to continued professional development and regularly attends training, psychology supervision, and clinical workshops.

Prior to his clinical work in psychology, Josh spent time working in disability support and coaching (incl. boxing), and was previously a professional athlete.
