James is a kind and skilled psychologist with experience treating a wide range of difficulties for adolescents and adults. He brings a calm, grounded presence to his work and values creating a safe space where people feel seen, heard and supported. James is committed to helping individuals better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and move toward more meaningful and fulfilling lives.

James primarily works with adults and adolescents (12+) experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, ADHD, autism, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and grief and loss. Stemming from his clinical work at Headspace, James also has a passion for working with teens and young men. He is skilled in supporting adolescents through emotional challenges (including suicidality, school refusal and relational difficulties), and enjoys providing both short and long-term care based on individual needs.

James therapeutic approach is primarily informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. He brings presence, care and commitment to everyone he sees, offering both practical strategies and space for reflection, meaning-making and growth.

Alongside his clinical work at JCM Psychology, James is also a Performance Psychologist who works with Olympic and professional athletes. He enjoys working with elite and high performing individuals with a range of mental and psychological challenges, including anxiety, performance blocks, confidence, concentration, and emotional regulation.

Outside of the therapy room, you’ll find James at the beach or running through the trails in the forest. He also enjoys practicing yoga, reading and tending to his plants. From time-to-time he also enjoys a boogie.
